The Atlantic Coast trek, Morocco follows the beach and dunes in a northerly direction for 4 days. We journey along the shore from Iftas to Essaouira,
sometimes heading inland to explore the sand dunes, buildings of historical interest, through the undergrowth of Thuya, Euphorbia and Argan trees.
We will also visit pretty Moroccan fishing villages and follow the ancient caravan routes of the Portuguese.
After our trek we spend 2 nights in Essaouira, a small town nestled inside fortress walls where you will have plenty of time to discover the charming side streets and sample the freshly caught fish, before travelling back to the hustle and bustle of Marrakech.
DETAILS ITINERARY
DAY1 : Arrival at Marrakech
Arrival at Marrakech,Transfer and overnight at the Riad BB.
DAY2 : Marrakech – Essaouira – Village of Amardiz
Morning early, transfer by minibus to the Imsswane, (3 hours driving),70 km north of Essaouira. Meet our team and start our camel ride along the beautiful wild beach to the fishing village of Amardiz. dinner and Overnight at the camp. 3 to 4 hours of walking.
DAY3 : Amardiz village – Tafdna Beach
After two hours walking along the cliffs, we leave the sea to a plateau that offers superb views of the sea and fishing villages. Lunch with Berber family, tasting of argan oil (home made), and then go down toward the Tafdna beach. dinner and Overnight at the camp. 5 to 6 hours of walking.
DAY4 : Tafdna – Ahmed Assayh
From Tafdana, fishing village, we climb, in the shade of argan trees, to reach another plateau in an open forest of argan trees and go down to the beach brings us to the marabout of Ahmed Assayh. Dinner and Overnight at the camp. 5 to 6 hours of walking.
DAY5 : Ahmed Assayh – Cascades of Sidi Mbarak
We follow the coast passing through Berber villages and terraced gardens. Tea will be served in private home. Then down to the beach, ride a camel on the beach. dinner and overnight at the camp near Sidi Mbarak cascades. 5 hours of walking.
DAY6 : Cascades of Sidi Mbarak – Sidi Kaouki
From Sidi Mbarek, we walk on the beach, about two hours, to join our Riad in the village of Sidi Kaouki, a very quiet place. Departure by bus to visit the city of Essaouira, then return to Riad.
DAY7 : Sidi Kaouki – Marrakech
Back to Marrakech. Free afternoon in Marrakech. Overnight at the Hotel or Riad.
DAY8 : Transfer to the airport
