TREK DAY 3
Tacheddirt – Tizi Likemt (3555m) – Azib Likemt This morning starts with a long slow ascent across the valley and up to the pass at Tizi Likemt (3555m). It is fairly tough going with a long ascent and loose scree on the ground. From the pass, there is a fine view of Toubkal and its sister peaks. Then it is a long downhill descent to the village of Azib Likemt (2600m), where you camp for the night. Approx. 5-6 hours walking time (1241m ascent & 955m descent) Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Accommodation: Camping

TREK DAY 4
Azib Likemt – Tizi n’ Ououraine (3120m) – Amsourzerte Today is easier than the previous. The trek takes you through a variety of landscapes including more fantastic views of Toubkal and the Ifni Dome from Tizi n’Ououraine (3120m). The trail leads on towards Amsourzerte (1797m), arguably one of the nicest villages in the region, where you’ll spend the night in a simple village Gite. Approx. 5-6 hours walking time (520m ascent & 955m descent) Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Accommodation: Village Gite

TREK DAY 5
Amsourzerte – Ifni Lake (2392m) Heading West out of Amsourzerte, you pass through several small villages on your way towards Ifni Lake, the only lake in the High Atlas Mountains. The Lake is surrounded by towering peaks, scree and rubble and is a pleasant place to set camp and spend the afternoon relaxing at the shore. Approx. 3-4 hours walking time (595m ascent) Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Accommodation: Camping

TREK DAY 6
Ifni Lake – Nelter Hut (3207m)Today is the hardest day, heading up a long steep path up a scree slope towards the pass at Tizi n’Ouanoums (3684m), a narrow ledge between two shafts of rock. From here it is a long zigzag descent down a precipitously steep scree slope to Nelter Hut, a mountain refuge where you’ll spend the night. The dorms at Neltner tend to be crowded with other trekkers aiming to tackle Toubkal early next morning so in the summer and when the weather allows we typically camp at the Refuge. Approx. 5-6 hours walking time (815m ascent & 477m descent) Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Accommodation: Mountain Refuge / Camping

TREK DAY 7
Toubkal Refuge – Toubkal summit (4,167m)– Imlil Today you will be up early for the ascent of Toubkal (4,167m). It’s a challenging trek to the summit, but, weather permitting, you will be rewarded for your efforts with incredible views over the Atlas Range and the Sahara Desert. After the glory of the summit, you will retrace your steps to the Toubkal Mountain Refuge and then follow the well-trodden path back to Imlil, passing the holy Muslim site of Sidi Charmmharouch. Once you arrive in Imlil, you will be transported back to Marrakech, arriving in the early evening. Approx. 10-12 hours walking (960m ascent & 2427m descent) Meals Included: Breakfast and Lunch Accommodation: n/a over night in the guest house tamatert www.atlasguest.com

transfert to Atlantic trek day 8
Transfer from the High Atlas to Tafeda on the spectacular Atlantic Coast. Making an early start we begin with a short walk down to Imlil as we leave the High Atlas, relax and enjoy the scenery for the transfer (approx 5 hr) to the fishing village of Tafedna on the stunning Atlantic Coast. A largely undiscovered walking region we’ll be away from the trekking crowds as we enter a secret coastal region of Morocco. Over the next four days it will be very rare if we see another trekking group! Arriving in Tafeda there will be time for a walk along the beach or for a paddle in the sea if the weather is good. Our camping sites for the remainder of the week will be wild and amongst the dunes. After enjoying a stroll and setting up camp we’ll enjoy dinner together before falling asleep to the sound of the ocean!

Camel ride day 9
Excellent day of coastal walking along high cliffs to the little harbour of Sidi Ahmed Srir. LLeaving camp we climb above the sea into a wild plateau landscape of argan forest, where we may be lucky enough to see herds of goats grazing on the scrubby plants. The seed from these trees is ground down into an oil which is known for its cleansing and healing properties. The oil is also made into edible preparations for cooking and drizzling on food. However the most famous Argan oil is used to make soaps, and can be found in the traditional hammams (hot baths). We eventually drop down and walk beside the waves to our campsite at Sidi Ahmed Assayh, one of the most beautiful beaches on the Atlantic Coast. Our camels will take a different route today, due to the terrain and we will take a picnic lunch to enjoy along the way. Tonight we camp next to the sea, so there will be time to stroll along the sand or beach comb before dinner.

Trek day 10 at the coats
Trek through villages with gardens and orchards to our camp alongside high dunes. We continue our traverse of the coast on the imposing cliffs above the Atlantic Ocean as we pass through several Berber villages. Today is a wonderful day of trekking as waves lap below a landscape of wild arable farming. We may see local fishing boats hugging the coast before we arrive in an exceptional landscape of dunes. We make camp beside the assif (river) Boud which cuts through the dunes to the sea. This is a great campsite surrounded by a sandy landscape, near a pretty waterfall, and close to the beach. This is a great place for showering under the warm waterfall and the surrounding dunes are magical for exploring. After our arrival at camp there will be time to explore the beach which appears to go on for miles or climb the magnificent dunes for far reaching views of Sidi Kaouki, the town where we finish our trek the following day.

DAY 11 : Trek and relaxe in the afternoon in essaouira
Trek along beaches and through coastal forest to Sidi Kaouki. Transfer to Essaouira. Our final day is a beautiful day of beach walking through a spectacular landscape from one deserted beach to the next. During the morning session the light is particularly breathtaking and the wide ocean views are spectacular. Finally our caravan reaches the wide expanse of Sidi Kaouki beach which is very popular among wind surfers due to its constant warm wind. Here we say goodbye to our camel drivers and of course the camels before boarding a minibus for the 40 minute drive to the UNESCO town of Essaouira. This is a superb place to end the trip with its beautiful architecture, fascinating mix of history, vibrant colours, art galleries, open squares, walled medina and pavement cafes. The port is a bustling place to explore with the fort walls being excellent for taking wonderful photos of the ocean and white washed buildings.

DAY 12 : Explore half day in essaouira for visit it
Morning to explore Essaouria. Afternoon transfer to Marrkech. The morning is free to further enjoy the special ambience of Essaouria before we make the 3hr drive back to Marrakech. After checking in at the group hotel there will be time to explore the souks before an evening wander around the Djeema El Fna. Our farewell dinner together is taken in one of the traditional restaurants near the square.

DAY 13 : Transfert to Airport Marrakech
