Trek in Morocco offer you superb eight days trek to spend in the Toubkal National Park to explore the mountains of the High Atlas includes the summit of Toubkal. This trek is a challenge for those who love adventure and quiet of the mountains.
The Western High Atlas offers an amazing variety of landscapes, where the Toubkal peaks (over 4000m). This area is also interesting for its many natural cliffs, and where the mountain offers the finest panorama.
This trek is an ideal trip for those who want a demanding week’s walking, stunning mountain scenery and the added challenge of the winter environment. The ascent of Toubkal is not technical but does require some scrambling and the use of crampons and ice axes. The amount of snow can of course vary greatly! Departures from Oct – April
DETAILS ITINERARY
DAY1 : TRANSFER FROM MARRAKECH –IMLIL-TACHDDIRT
We meet our team and once all our baggage is loaded we start walking along the valley towards Tacheddirt,. Soon the trail begins to rise as we climb up to the pass at Tizi n’Tamatert (2279m). We then descend to the pretty village of Ouaneskra and continue, for a further half-hour or so, to Tacheddirt (3000m),where we generally camp near the river.or stay in local lodge. 5 hours walking / +560 m.
DAY2 : TACHEDDIRT-AZIB LIKEMT
After early breakfast we start our first hard day ,when we go all the way up to one of the highest passes in Toubkal area ,callaed Tizi Likemt 3555m,some nuts will be served on the top and trek down to the shelters of Likemnt where we set our camp.. 6 to 7 hours walking. / +1255 // – 800m.
DAY3 : AZIB LIKEMT-TIZI N’OURAI-AMSOUZERT
We walk along the Ourain river until the Ourain Pass 3100m ,very nice view from there over the villages of Amsouzert and also the Toubkal peak from the south face.trek down to Amsouzert ,where we stay overnight in local house…6 to 7 hours walk. +400//-1400m.
DAY4 : AMSOUZERT-IFNI LAKE
Today is quit short walk of 4 hours passing by many villages in the way,to get to the beautifull lake that is surrounded by rocky mountains ,we will be there by lunch time and spend afternoon on the board of the lake….+400 –night in camp
DAY5 : IFNI LAKE-NELTER HUT
Today, every one will be ready early morning to start going up hill to the highest peak in toubkal area 3660m,and then get down to the base camp of toubkal peak 3207m.night in refuge or tentes. 7 hours walk..+1560m //-453m
DAY6 : MT. TOUBKAL SUMMIT- REFUGE
We leave very early morning at about 5h30 or 6 ,to get to the highest peak in north afriqua 4167m,very nice view over the atlas mountain chaine and its berbere village …trek down slowly to refuge , 6 to 7 hours walk.+960m – 960m. after lunch trek down for another 3hours to Imlil and transfer to Marrakech.
DAY7 : TRANSFER TO MARRAKECH- NIGHT IN THE HOTEL
Arrive to Marrakech airoport and stay in Riad Or hotel.
DAY8 : TRANSFER TO THE AIRPORT
Transfer to the Airport
